This section of our website is devoted to one of Bob Trapani, Jr.’s passions – aids to navigation. Here the visitor will have an opportunity to learn about the many facets of today’s modern Coast Guard aids to navigation program. From lenses and lamps to fog horns and daybeacons – and buoys too, there is much to discover when it comes to keeping the mariner safe along our waterways.

Bob has serviced aids to navigation as a Coast Guard Auxiliarist since 2000, working with USCG Aids to Navigation Team Cape May, NJ (2000-05), USCG Aids to Navigation Team South Portland, ME (2006), USCGC “Abbie Burgess – a 175-foot buoy tender homeported in Rockland, ME (2007), USCGC “Tackle” – a 65-foot tug homeported in Rockland, ME (2007-10) and USCG Aids to Navigation Team Southwest Harbor, ME (2010-present).
